Week 2: Different But The Same

Isaac Gross continues the “Resilient” series with a message titled “Different But The Same.”

Week 2 : Resilient Conversations

A conversation with Noelle & Phil, recapping the spiritual pillar message “Different But The Same.”

STEP 1:
Answer each question based on the facts of where you currently are, not where you've been, not where you wish you were, and not where you want others to think you are. Be honest with yourself.

Assessment scale 65pt

This scale isn’t intended to shame or condemn you. It is intended to help you look at the facts of where you are so you can determine the path forward to where you want to be.

A low score doesn’t make you bad. A high score doesn’t make you good.

Remember, we talk and think in terms of healthy and unhealthy, strong and weak, more than good and bad.

If you have an unhealthy/weak score, okay. It is what it is. So let’s get to work and get healthier, stronger, together.

THE JOURNEY IS COMING.

Prayer Menu

View the following as a menu that will help grow your prayer life.

Choose one, or as many as you want, to focus on this week. Allow this to become a daily necessity and you will rarely miss an appointment.

1 : Worship

Worship invites God into the room. Worship is one of God’s love languages.

But each day the Lord pours his unfailing love upon me, and through each night I sing his songs, praying to God who gives me life. Psalms 42:8

Enter his gates with thanksgiving; go into his courts with praise. Give thanks to him and praise his name. Psalms 100:4

2 : Confess

Confession helps calibrate the soul. Unconfessed sin is the elephant in the room. The elephant in the room isn’t in the corner, it’s in the way. Any sin you hide, you have to hold onto. Any sin you hold on to will always hold you back.

If I had not confessed the sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened. But God did listen! He paid attention to my prayer. Psalms 66:18-19

But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness. 1 John 1:9

3 : Read

The more we value His Word, the more he will share his voice. The purpose of our reading is to have an encounter with Jesus and to see what He is like.

Open my eyes to see the wonderful truths in your instructions. Psalms 119:18

For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. Hebrews 4:12

4 : Pray

Allow prayer to be an intimate exchange between you and Him.

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Philippians 4:6

When you pray, don’t be like the hypocrites who love to pray publicly on street corners and in the synagogues where everyone can see them. I tell you the truth, that is all the reward they will ever get. But when you pray, go away by yourself, shut the door behind you, and pray to your Father in private. Then your Father, who sees everything, will reward you. Matthew 6:5-6

5 : Listen

If we’re going to have the boldness to ask God a question, we need to have the patience to let him respond. As beautiful as us speaking to God is; things change when we allow God to talk to us. When He speaks, universes are made; thus the call to listen compels me!

Ask me and I will tell you remarkable secrets you do not know about things to come. Jeremiah 33:3

So then faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. Romans 10:17

6 : Respond

God loves for you to receive his voice. He loves even more to receive your response. Spend time with God – “Thank you’s” are great, “I love you” is better.

My heart has heard you say, “Come and talk with me.” And my heart responds, “Lord, I am coming.” Psalms 27:8
